LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION:  AIDAN HORN

I write this letter to recommend Aidan Horn as an excellent sailing instructor.  I have known Aidan for many years but have got to know him well in the last approximately eight years in the context of the Annual Hermanus Camp, of which I am the Commandant.

In the last two camps which each last about 12 days, Aidan has taken on the responsibility of teaching boys between the ages of 11 and 15 to sail.  He has used mainly the camp’s Extra for this purpose.  He is patient and kind with the boys and I can confidently recommend him for a teaching job.

I have got to know Aidan as an intelligent and thoughtful young man and I know him to be a young man of physical endurance and tenacity.  In my view he would be acquit himself well in extreme circumstances.

Yours sincerely

ADVOCATE MJM BRIDGMAN

COMMANDANT OF THE ANNUAL HERMANUS CAMP

To whom it may concern

It gives me pleasure to testify on behalf of Aidan Horn, whom I have known for the past 4 months as a student of 2 Oceans Maritime Academy under my instruction. Aidan is a keen sailor who is quick to learn and carries out the tasks required of him with enthusiasm. Aidan is an experienced sailor, having had previous experience before starting the 15 week Yachtmaster Ocean course. He has a good command of the crew on the vessel, as well as good wind awareness and good judgement about general decisions that need to be made while underway. His theoretical knowledge of regulations, navigation, meteorology and sailing terms is good. He has handled a position of responsibility (being a skipper) with ease. I recommend him as a competent individual without hesitation.
